SAS Global Forum

Submitted by Peter Timusk on Sun, 04/08/2018 - 23:30

I am attending SAS Global forum again this year. Discussions have been about clouds and SAS Viya.
I connected with people from the SAS social media team I see online all year. I reconnected with two British SAS professionals I have come to know. In all this has been a good start to this year’s SAS Global Forum

SAS work today was minimal on a Saturday.

Submitted by Peter Timusk on Sat, 01/06/2018 - 23:49

I only briefly read and thought about a couple of emails on SAS-L the SAS learning email list today. I also noticed a new SAS book about writing efficient SAS programs. I may wait until payday before buying that book, if it is available as an ebook. It is actually a non work day for me today, so mostly I did not do computer programming work.

Tapping into experts on documenting variables.

Submitted by Peter Timusk on Sun, 12/16/2012 - 03:12

I have worked for a well know demography expert as a code checker where I reviewed SAS logs for possible errors. He taught me some techniques for documenting variables. I have started to discuss with him his allowing me to describe his techniques in my book on documenting SAS programs. I am hoping to devote a whole chapter to the "hows" and best practices for documenting variables.
